Before Doing the Update Please Make Sure Your Machine SBC is at 5233 before Continuing
To Check your SBC SW Version go to the service menu > Help > About
Below are instructions on how to update a Flex board to version 5196 using a USB:
Require Materials:
- USB Drive (2GB-32GB)
- Laptop/Computer for setting up USB Drive
- Zip file containing update (downloadable at the bottom of this article)
- Download the zip file attached to the bottom of this article

Transfer files to a blank 2GB-32GB USB drive
- Right click and extract all to the USB drive, then delete zip file
- End set up should look like this: one folder "NOR", two files in that folder, "NOR1.bin" and "NOR2.bin"
- Unplug USB drive from computer and plug into the outer-most USB slot on the main board
- Power the machine off, wait 20 seconds, and the power the machine back on
- Let machine sit for up to 30 minutes for the update to complete
- Once machine is back to "Enter ID", confirm update completed by checking the iQ Tech Portal "Machines" page for control board version 5196
Post Update Setup
After you have updated the machine to 5196 there will need to be some settings updated for the machine to work correctly. Please follow the steps below to ensure your machine is working accurately.
- Go to Service menu > System Updates
- Factory Default (Password 2314)
- After Reboot Go to Service menu
- Go To Connections > FlexConnect Settings (Password 2314)
- Set the following values
- URL1 - https://account.iqtechportal.com
- URL2 - https://api.iqtechportal.com
- FlexConnect Intf. Type - IQTech
- Save
- To find the ":","/" characters click the button on the keypad called "char" in the bottom right just above the back button
- Once it is done defaulting the settings exit to vend mode
- After the data transfer occurs go into service mode again
- Set Idle screen settings
- Only two options should be selected Promo display 1 and browse
- The promo rates can be left as is
- Click save in the top right corner
- Perform a motor count
- Go to motor count
- Click the count motors button
- If you see the motors spin that is normal

Set up Pairings

Here is a video on how to set these up
- Pairings would be shown in the portal like the picture below. It will help to take note of the pairings.
- You will need to exit to vend mode for the Pairings to take affect

- Configure Optical vend
- Go to configuration > Optical Vend
- Make sure all of your selections have the blue highlight around them
- Click Save in the top right corner
- Motor Type Maintenance (Locker Units)
- If your machine is a host locker or is a coil machine with a locker attached you will need to set the motor type maintenance
- Go to motor type maintenance
- Change Motor type drop down to your lockers motor type M-Locker or S-Locker
- If your locker has only even numbered motors you will be M-Locker
- If your locker has even and odd number motors you will be S-Locker
- Select all of your locker motors so they have a blue highlight around them
- Click save
- Motor Type maintenance will only take affect once you exit to vend mode
- Setting Refrigeration (All Units)
- If you do not have a Refrigerated Machine you will need to set the refrigeration to Ambient and click save
- If you have a refrigerated machine you will need to set up your temp settings

- Beeper (Optional)
- Go to Options
- Unselect the beeper
- Save
- Exit to Vend Mode to apply changes
- Test vend selections to ensure pairings and motor types were set correctly
- Push Planogram to machine from IQ Tech
